GH Actors React On Alan's Firing
Steve Burton (Jason): "I'm heartbroken. The guy is such a giving, great father, great grandfather, great friend, just a great person all the way around. But unfortunately, this is a business and the casualties are people. I love Stuart. We have a lot of the same interests. Our families kind of went through the same personal difficulties, so we really got to know each other and experience things together. I'm going to miss him to death."
Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth): "It's very sad, and I'm not afraid to say I don't understand why and I do not agree with it at all. This does hurt. I've only been here 10 years, he's been here almost 30, and that's really hard to swallow."
Natalia Livingston (Emily): "I was in shock, honestly, when I heard about it. I didn't think this was ever going to happen. I'm so, so, sad. He's going to be so incredibly missed. He's the backbone of the Quatermaine family and Stuey is a very paternal person to everybody on the show. He's someone everyone respects and we all look up to. He's so loved."
Kimberly McCullough (Robin): "It's completely irresponsible and cruel and uncalled for. That's on the record."
Kin Shriner (Scotty): "I've always said to him that without that beautiful, full head of hair of his, he would have been finished long ago. Actually, it was the first thing he said to me when I saw him again. He said 'You're coming and I'm leaving.' But I told him when one door closes, you don't know how many others will open for you. I've found that out. I have nothing but praise for Stuart Damon . The battling Quatermaines won't be the same without him."
Jason Thompson (Patrick): "I love Stuey. He's always in a great mood. He's always so professional. We have a little running joke: We'll do a scene and every single time he goes, 'That's going on my reel, Jason. That's going on my reel.' I'm sure he says that to everyone, but I'm going to miss him so much."
Constance Towers (Helena): "Stuart is always a gentleman, but he also has a great sense of humor. A few times he told some risque jokes and had that smile, looking back at you to see if you got it. He is a charming man. I hope there's a plot coming up where Alan has a twin."
Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie): "This woman stopped me in the market the other day and asked me about what's going on with Stuart and she said, 'He'll always be Prince Charming to me'...He'll always be Prince Charming to us, too."
SOD says that Stuart Damon may stay on GH for awhile as a ghost.
I can't even say how stunned I was when I heard the Alan Quartermaine AKA Stuart Damon was being axed from General Hospital. He has been on the show SINCE 1977! This is what he gets-a heart attack and gone-in 2007. Thirty years he gave that show. I know business is business but at some point you would think that there would be a word called RESPECT for those who have labored and given so much to their life's work.
