Orlando Bloom Does Gotham

On the eve of the release of Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End, the third film in the series, the avid environmentalist is looking toward venturing into independent “socially relevant” films. He’s ready to move on and shed the costumes. It may be a chance for us to finally see the real Orlando… maybe.

G: What’s the most bizarre interaction you’ve had with a fan?
OB: In New York this girl kind of freaked out at me. I was being let out of a building and the security people were saying, “You’ve got to keep moving! You can’t stop! If you stop we’re going to have chaos in here!” But she got kind of aggressive with me and was really angry. She was like, “I’ve been at every premiere and you never say hello.” And it was funny, I felt really upset. I felt bad for her. So I turned around and went over to her and just gave her a hug and said, “It’s cool. I’m sorry you feel let down or disappointed. But the nature of my life is I can’t necessarily stop every time, and it’s not because I don’t want to.” I think she felt a little better afterward, and so did I. And for me, it actually shed a little light on the other side of the coin.

G: I heard there’s actually an imposter “Orlando” on MySpace. Have you checked out his site?
OB: I heard about him in a really weird way. This guy approached me in my hometown and said something like, “I’m Angel.” He had this mad look in his eye. I was like, “You’re who? That’s a funny name for a guy.” And he said, “I’m four down on MySpace. You’re on MySpace, right?” And I said, “I don’t even know what it is!” I’m not on it. So anyone who’s pretending to be me, I hope he’s getting laid a lot.

G: Is it hard for you to date when you’re the focus of so much attention?
OB: Yeah, it is. It just kills the romance of the initial moment. I grew up predominantly with my mother and my sister, so I’m comfortable in the presence of women. I have a lot of female friends, and I can’t step outside with any of them without being linked to them in some form or another. It’s sort of annoying, but what can you do?

G: So, are you dating Penélope Cruz?
OB: [Pause] She’s a friend of mine.

G: So you’re not dating?
OB: [Very, very long pause] OK, so what’s your next question?

Orlando To Say Buh-Bye To Hollywood?

Get your fill of Orlando Bloom now while you can, maybe stock up on his DVD's and buy some magazines with him in it, because he's taking a break from showbiz. The foxy pirate has decided to immerse himself in a Buddhist lifestyle rather than make any more movies for now, saying that making back to back trilogies was exhausting. Bloom says, "I've been white knuckling it for so long. Between the first Lord Of The Rings and the last Pirates Of The Caribbean I've been going non-stop. So now I just want some time and space from everything and the phone and the communication." Bloom has been studying Buddhism for several years, and wants to totally focus his energies in that direction, rather than on the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. He has also committed himself to a "green" lifestyle in response to the world's global warming issues.

According to his IMDB page he has no other films in the works after the release of 'Pirates 3'.

The official movie trailer for Pirates 3 is due out on Monday, March 19 during the premiere episode of ABC's Dancing With The Stars. Movie releases in theaters nationwide on May 25th.

Djimon Hounsou is one amorous guy. Last week, the "Blood Diamond" star was all over Cameron Diaz. This week, he turned his attention on Kimora Lee Simmons. Hounsou and Simmons made out all night at Boulevard 3 in L.A. Tuesday during a Dom Perignon dinner for Forest Whitaker. The two, there to help celebrate Whitaker's Oscar win, ignored Oprah Winfrey, Mary J. Blige, Chris Tucker and Quincy Jones to grope each other, and left together.

Orlando Bloom and Penélope Cruz spent the whole night kissing at Prince's Oscars party. A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Penélope and Orlando couldn't keep their hands off one another - they were making out the whole night. "It was crazy! Touching, kissing - even a little bit of groping. And in view of tons of actors, too, like Leonardo DiCaprio and Ryan Gosling." The 32-year-old Volver actress also helped Orlando celebrate his 30th birthday at Los Angeles nightclub Teddy's last month, where the couple were said to be inseparable.

Sultry star Robin Givens has a new man, and he loves to dance for her. Givens was spotted last Thursday night at Stereo with rapper Ginuwine and pals including Kanye West and Jermaine Dupri. Clubgoers got a show when, according to witnesses, Ginuwine "got up on Jermaine's table in the VIP section and started doing a sexy, slow dance for Robin, followed by a lap dance."

Global Green Pre-Oscar Celebration

Orlando Bloom is building an eco-friendly new house in London. Bloom is encouraging others to follow suit - insisting the simplest of gestures can make a massive difference to the future of the planet.

Speaking at a pre-Oscar party to benefit environmental group Global Green USA, Bloom tells the New York Daily News, "It (the house) is as green as I can make it. It's got solar panels on the roof, energy efficient light bulbs - newer technology basically that is environmentally friendly."

The actor, who will be able to plug in his hybrid car into the 'green house', adds of the difference others can make, "It doesn't have to be overwhelming, there are simple things we can do."

PS. Isn't Orlando's hair a mess? It looks like he just got out of bed! Oh BTW, the "big news" is that Penelope & Orly were hanging out together most of the evening!
