My Tribute To Layne Thomas Staley on the Fifth Year Anniversary Of His Death

On 20 April 2002, Seattle Police were summoned to the home of Layne Staley after friends and family members were unable to contact him. Inside, Staley's decomposing body was found lifeless, the victim of an apparent drug overdose. Layne Staley was 34 years old. They estimate that the actual date of death was April 5, 2002.

In 2002, Layne's mother Nancy McCallum and Jamie Richards, a drug and alcohol counselor, formed the Layne Staley Fund, a non-profit organization that raises money for drug treatment and works with the Seattle music community. A yearly tribute is held in August, on or around Layne's birthday, to celebrate his music and to spread a message of hope to prevent further tragedy.

I discovered Alice In Chains via their CD, Alice In Chains Unplugged. I was going through a divorce and found their music to have a deep impact on my soul. Layne's voice was deeply moving and he has become one of my most favorite singers of all times. How sad that this world has lost one of the greats! At least we have the music to commemorate his gift. Thanks Layne for the great music. We won't forget you!

Lead Singer Of Boston Dies

Brad Delp, the lead singer for Boston, a huge rock sensation in the 1970s, was found dead Friday in his home, police said. He was 55.

Atkinson police responded to a call for help at 1:20 p.m. and found Delp dead. Police Lt. William Baldwin said in a statement the death was "untimely" and that there was no indication of foul play. Delp apparently was alone at the time of his death, Baldwin said.

The cause of his death remained under investigation by the Atkinson police and the New Hampshire Medical Examiner's office. Police said an incident report would not be available until Monday.

Delp fronted the rock band, who rose to fame in the late 1970s and had several hits, including "More than A Feeling." The group sold millions of records. Boston's first album sold 17 million records in America alone and is the best-selling debut album by a band in US history.

Boston Singer Committed Suicide

Brad DelpThe family of Boston front man Brad Delp has confirmed the rocker committed suicide. The More Than A Feeling singer, 55, was found dead in his New Hampshire home last Friday, and now Delp's family has come forward to announce the depressed star took his own life. In a statement released yesterday, members of Delp's family said, "He was a man who gave all he had to give to everyone around him, whether family, friends, fans or strangers. He gave as long as he could, as best he could, and he was very tired. We take comfort in knowing that he is now, at last, at peace." Delp's body was found by his fiancée Pamela Sullivan. The announcement comes after a state medical examiner declared Delp committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.

This is so very sad! This world has gotten so complicated that for some it's just too difficult to stay here! Again RIP Brad!!

R.I.P. Anna Nicole Smith

This is the only post you will see in regards to the death of Anna Nicole Smith. All media outlets will take this story and run it into the ground. I do not want to be a part of this frenzy. She lead a tragic life and died a tragic death at a young age. I just wish her God Speed,a chance to be with her son Daniel and to have peace. May God be with her 5 month old daughter Dannielynn.
