Ronnie Spector thanked Cher, But Not Her Hubby

Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones introduces The Ronettes, the 1960s girl group known for pop songs such as “Be My Baby” and “Baby I Love You.” “They could sing all their way right through a wall of sound,” Richards said, alluding to Ronettes producer Phil Spector’s famed style.

Lead singer Spector thanked a list of people including Cher, Bruce Springsteen and her publicist, but made no mention of her ex-husband, Phil Spector, who is set to go on trial next week for the murder of an actress.

After the Ronettes sang a trio of their hits, bandleader Paul Shaffer came to the microphone to read a note from Phil Spector, who said "I wish them all the happiness and good fortune the world has to offer."
